The Basque Country is passing through the state of health alarm and if the situation does not worsen, the new step will be taken on 8 June, moving to the third phase both in the CAV and in Navarre. The last step to get out of the state of alarm will be next week, and the measures required by the state of alarm will be made more flexible.
In this sense, the autonomous communities will be able to manage measures to alleviate the confinement. This was announced on 31 May by the president of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez, to the regional presidents.
As regards travel, Iñigo Urkullu will have from 8 June the power to authorize traffic between the provinces of Araba, Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa. In any case, it is also possible to circulate throughout the territory of Hego Euskal Herria. On the other hand, the time limits for all citizens in this third phase will be abolished. Children's and youth activities will also be authorised in the third phase, both in the open air and in enclosed spaces, provided that the day begins and ends. There will also be changes in the capacity of bars and restaurants: up to half the space and 75% of the terraces can be occupied. Bars and nightclubs open at night will remain closed. All shops will be able to open their doors regardless of their size, but always within the limits of capacity.
