The Duke of Edinburgh dies at 99
- The husband of the Queen of England, Philip Elisabet II of Edinburgh, died at the age of 99. He married the British Queen 72 years ago and has been an absolute prince for the past 69 years. Father of four children, grandfather of eight grandchildren and great-grandfather of nine grandchildren, Philip of Edinburgh was dean of the European monarchies.
The youngest son of Prince Andrew of Greece and Princess Alicia of Battenberg was born on 10 June 1921 in Korfu (Greece), as a Greek prince, but was always British.
