JxCat, concerned about the position of the nationalist party, wrote a letter to the leaders of the PNV on behalf of the 34 deputies of the Puigdemont party. The president of the EBB, Andoni Ortuzar, sent a letter on February 2 to Elsa Artadi, president of the JxCat Parliamentary Group: “Due to the friendly relations that unite PNV and myself with Catalonia, I prefer to consider the letter you sent to me as unreceived and not to respond in this way. Whenever and for whatever you want, we will always be available to meet you in Catalan or Basque lands.”

Although the reason why the PNV initially did not agree on budgets with the Spanish government was the repeal of Article 155, protecting the interests of Catalonia, it seems that the relations between the PNV and JxCat have been compromised for a long time.
