A group of hotel owners bought the bar La Cueva, located at the entrance of the plaza de la Trinidad, as reported in the newspaper Noticias de Gipuzkoa. In particular, it is the same business group that manages the four Beti Jai and Nagusia bars of the Old Town of Donostiarra. In addition to the bar, the three-storey house on the side, the oldest in the Old Party, has also been acquired. He is the only one who stood when San Sebastian burned in 1813.
The cousins of the grandchildren of Franco, the brothers Martínez-Bordiu, were until recently the owners of both the bar and the building. They are also heirs to the original owner, Isabel de Cubes. Over the past 60 years, the Salvador Amago family has run the charter bar and have had a good relationship with Cubas and his heirs. However, the sales of the entire building have been shocked by the wind. Thus, the La Cueva bar will end six decades of running.
The building maintains the old facade and was built by the great-grandfather of Isabel de Cubas. The first floor of the house has also been used by the bar managers as a meeting place and dressing rooms for the staff. On the other hand, on another floor lives a woman, born in the building, like her mother and her grandmother.
