Security Councilor Martin Ibabe and Municipal Police Chief Mikel Santamaría have presented the DJI Phantom 4 Pro drone, which has shown their satisfaction for being a “leading system”.
The device has a weight of 1,800 grams and is equipped with a high-resolution camera that allows you to see images in real time through a monitor.
The use of the drone will be limited to special safety plans in events such as regattas, areas of large influx of people or to emergency situations such as accidents or flooding, as indicated.
The Municipal Police team is composed of five people capable of handling the device and in all safety tasks it has been established that the current legislation on the use of these devices will be respected.
For the moment only one drone will be used, but it is not ruled out that more of different characteristics can be brought, as the current device cannot fly in rain due to its electronic sensitivity.
The cost of acquiring the apparatus has been EUR 3,000.
