The workers of the haurtxokos and gaztelekus of Donostia-San Sebastián and the Etxarriene centre of Martutene will concentrate on Thursday, day 10, at 11:00 in front of the town hall. In the new documents published by the City Council, the service to haurtxokos and gaztelekus has undergone significant cuts, such as a 40% reduction in the budget, a reduction in the number of working hours, a lack of job security for some workers or the closure of the haurtxoko of the Old Party. The workers have asked for a meeting of the Youth Department of the City Hall, but at the moment they have not received a response from the workers. That is why they will be holding a rally on Thursday, under the slogan ‘Let us fight for the haurtxokos and the gaztelekus’.
The workers and the ELA trade union attended a press conference last week in which they denounced the cuts and explained their demands at a press conference. They have encouraged people to go to Thursday’s rally to demand that the City Hall convene a meeting.
