Considering the data, San Sebastian was the city that least recycled last year. Only 43% of urban waste was collected selectively and the average of the community was 52%. Astigarraga, Errenteria, Hernani, Lasarte-Oria, Lezo, Oiartzun, Pasaia, Urnieta and Usurbil are the other localities involved in the initiative. All but Lasarte-Oria are above average. In addition, San Marcos is the community that performs the least selective collection in Gipuzkoa. The average of Gipuzkoa is 57.98%, while Donostia-San Sebastián is below 15 points.
On the other hand, Eguzki’s members believe that this will not be resolved by the proliferation of “awareness campaigns” and that it does not depend on the “ecological awareness of citizenship”.
