About 60 News Journal workers have concentrated this Friday morning at the headquarters of the Pamplona newspaper following the eviction of four journalists from the Estella delegation and three others from Tudela. At the meeting, the committee of the CCOO, ELA and Solidari trade unions announced the indefinite strike called from 11 July, demanding “the readmission of colleagues, the return to negotiations with the workers’ committee and the non-taking of unilateral decisions”.
With these seven layoffs, the Navarre media has closed the physical headquarters of Estella and Tudela and ended their delegations, leaving only two journalists without office. The Committee believes that this decision is “an attack on an unprecedented workforce”. In addition, they have criticized that this is a decision "that goes against the ethics, dignity and editorial principles of the creation of a News Journal".
To cope with this situation, the workers have stated that they do not accept "neither the mandates imposed from Bilbao" nor "corporate pride". On the other hand, at yesterday's assembly in the wording and "reporting dismissals", they have denounced "the director's absence", at their request.
Two workers dismissed in Estella’s delegation had been in the newspaper for twelve and eighteen years, as explained in the assembly, and have been expelled from the company “overnight”. "In the afternoon the staff commission consulted the manager to ask him if there were any news, but he said there was no news. The next few days, we were on the street,” they said.
As the Committee has pointed out, “we are seven fewer today, we do not know how many we will be tomorrow.” They have therefore announced that they will start an indefinite strike from next Thursday, "if there is no negotiation before".

I received your e-mail in personal mail on the strike portals. At first, like many others, I thought it was to let you know what options we have in the face of the strike. But no, the e-mail received was a political and communicative movement against the strike.
I will confess... [+]
