Only a few dozen people live in the small town of Albeiz, in Asparrena, but on Saturday, one more year, they will follow a very important tradition: Olentzero and Mari Domingi will welcome the close to two hundred people who have arrived by train and with the cards in hand from the Rochapea de Pamplona.
The special solidarity initiative began in Egino when they began to chase Olentzero in Navarra to overcome the limitations and prohibitions, and for a few years it has gained strength in Albeiz and has become a tradition, although in recent years there has been no such problem in the celebration of Olentzero in Pamplona.
Olentzero and Mari Domingi will meet in the portico of the church of Albeiz, one of the most curious and old watches of Álava, and the children will have the opportunity to talk to them. In Herriko Lagunak attendees will be able to taste chocolate, hot wine and chestnuts for all audiences: "There will be no lack of the good atmosphere for all those who join the party," they explained to Alea de Álava.
