On Tuesday, the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Foreign Policy, Arancha González, confirmed the discovery of the corpses of two journalists. Gonzalez has not confirmed the identity of the deceased, he has confined himself to reporting that they were two journalists performing a documentary, but the media have assumed that the deceased are Beriain and Fraile. David Beriain was born in Pamplona/Iruña, and Roberto Fraile did so in Barakaldo (Bizkaia).
Fraile and Beriain, together with an Irish journalist and a member of the Burkin security forces, were missing following the attack by several armed persons on an illegal hunting patrol in the Kompienga region in the south-east. The two journalists were working on a documentary on illegal hunting. According to Naiz, local media claim that journalists have been killed by their kidnappers.
