CAV and Jiangsu Province of China have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Monday as part of the United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP28) in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, in 2023. Through this agreement, a joint work plan in the field of environmental protection has been agreed which will enable policies and plans to combat climate change, protect biodiversity and promote the circular economy.
The agreement has been signed by the Deputy Environmental Sustainability Advisor of the Basque Government, Aitor Aldasoro, and the Deputy Director of the Department of Ecology and Environment of the Basque Government, Ying Jianbo, who have decided to strengthen the links between the two countries, which will collaborate in scientific and technological research projects related to the environment. However, this new agreement originates from the first pact between the Basque Country and Jiangso signed by lehendakari Iñigo Urkullu in 2019.
