The Civil Guard has arrested former Basque prisoner Carlos "Kai" Sáez de Egilaz on Beasain Street, as reported by the Department of Interior of the Basque Government eitb.eus. Shortly after the news was received, it has been known that Felipe San Epifanio has also been arrested, although there is still no information about the time and place of detention. The arrests have taken place on the order of the Examining Court No. 6 of the Spanish National Court.

According to information published by various media, the arrest of Sáez de Egilaz is related to the arrests of Oihana San Vicente, Antton López Ruiz Kubati, Oihana Garmendia and Haimar Altuna in 2020, allegedly part of the same police operation related to the reception of prisoners.

According to Naiz, Sáez de Egilaz has been released at 13:30 hours after passing through the Intxaurrondo barracks for release.

San Epifanio was arrested in Barcelona in 1994 and released in 2017.

Sáez de Egilaz was arrested in Dax (Occitania) in 2003 and, after serving his prison sentence, was released in January 2014.
