The Conservative Alliance CRE-PSC received 52.5% of the votes and was very close to the Union for Hope (UNES) left-wing alliance, which had Andrés Arauz as a presidential candidate. Arauz Rafael is Correa's political successor. Correa was president of Ecuador from 2007 to 2017.
Yaku Pérez does not participate
On the first lap held on 7 February, indigenist candidate Yaku Pérez denounced being a victim of fraud. He brought resources, but the scrutiny was not repeated. He stayed out of the second lap. The presidential candidate asked for a zero vote in the second round to be held in Catalonia. Zero votes account for 16.25% of the total, and the usual rate is 9%. In other words, 1.6 million votes were void.
