Booktegi will hold a festival on October 22 to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the project
- Booktegi will celebrate its five-year tour on 22 October, for which they have organised a Booktegi Festival in Usurbil. It will be attended by those who love the culture of the people and the Basque Country. Her focus is on the celebration of the path traveled and in the future: they are looking for partners.
Booktegi was founded in 2017 and has since published 266 books, 125 audio books and 115 videos. To celebrate these 5 years of bonanza, the Booktegi Festival will be held on 22 October at Sutegi Kultur Etxea in Usurbil.
A full programme has been organized from the morning onwards. The festival will be opened at 10:00, with a poetic return guided by the local association Noaua and the library of Usurbil. Next, the first of the three tertulias will be held throughout the day with the writers who have created the stories for the Booktegi Mutual Reading section, in which Itziar Ugarte, Oihana Arana Cardenal, Ibon Larrazabal and Amaia Arakistain will participate. Then, the students of the ikastola Udarrangi will perform stories and plays. After the meal, Anari will play the Habiak album live and, at the end, Edorta Jimenez, Maite Darceles, Danele Sarriugarte and Bakartxo Iguaran will start the second talk of the day. Iraia Elias and Hatxe will take the witness to interpret the Previous Final Manifesto of Harkaitz Cano. Then the third colloquium will bring Asel Luzarraga, Irati Majuelo, Aitziber Etxeberria Garro and Ana Galarraga back to the table. Uxue Alberdi and Amorant will close the festival with the Major Mass, written and composed to commemorate the anniversary of Booktegi.
Itxaro Borda will host the festival, Xabi Strubell will host the music day and also enjoy the Habiak exhibition. According to the organizers, the tickets will be released in September and the festival will be collected in video so that whoever is unable to attend can enjoy the festival.
Looking for partners
The project’s drivers have also given other news: "In view of the reception given to him by Basque society, we have created an institution that will lead the project forward: Booktegi Kultur Elkartea. One of the functions of the Partnership will be the search for partners. "The aim of the project is to foster a passion for reading and writing in Basque, and all people who agree with it will be welcomed in the association." Members shall be required to pay an amount which the partner himself decides to make the financial contribution. Members and partners will be able to participate actively by "contributing ideas and proposals and, if they so wish, collaborating with some works", acquiring a collection of prologues written specifically for Booktegi, receiving a newsletter every three months, participating in sweepstakes and being able to request preferred tickets for Booktegi's performances.
