The Setem and OCSI associations have called for responsible consumption and boycotting the Black Friday with the #DiaSinPurchases campaign. The day offered by the supposed “manga” of the big multinationals has also been added to many small shops, forced by the competition of the department stores.
The associations have pointed out that Black Friday is the excuse to maintain the hegemony of a consumer society that grows “permanently” and that it is a campaign that “deceives” the consumer generating “false” needs. Nor is it ruled out that the offers announced by the large multinationals are “fraudulent”.
Members of both associations have also stressed that businesses are "tired" of consumers being seen as "a simple economic benefit" or "a roaming credit card".
At the height of the English Court, between Tudela and García Ximenez streets of Pamplona/Iruña, protests against Black Friday have been organized this Friday at 18:00.
