Strikers demand that employers Cebek reject the blockade and an agreement that guarantees purchasing power and decent working conditions, the latter being 2009-2011. The interunion denounces that on the strike day of 30 October the Ertzaintza stopped a worker "without any justification".
The trade union platform has described as "success" the strike called by the Bizkaia Graphic Arts sector for this year. The first day of strike was 29 October, and it started with an early morning picket at 05:30 on the right side of the Bilbao estuary, and then a demonstration at 11:30 in Mungia.
On Wednesday, the strike continued in Basauri, and an informative piquet, like the previous day, started the day before the company Biolid, S.L. Trade unions have denounced that the Ertzaintza has "without any justification" arrested a worker of the company. “While the mobilisation was uneventful, the Mobile Brigade of the Ertzaintza has been a strong breakthrough, has not allowed the right to inform the strike committee to materialize and has arrested a worker in the sector,” said LAB. In a statement, the callers stated that this is an "illogical abusive act" and demanded the release of the detained person without charge. After the piquet, a "multitudinous" demonstration was held in the streets of the Biscayan town of Basauri.
The trade unions have called for a strike in protest at the blocking of the negotiations for the renewal of the Cebek Convention. LAB, ELA, CCOO and UGT have convened five days of unemployment for the 29th, 30th, 31st October and 4th and 5th November. In total, there will be twelve days of strike since they began to protest in April. Although they met three times with the employers in August, there was no progress, not even at the last meeting on 24 October, as Cebek rejected the proposals of the trade union platform.
According to the trade unions, the strike has paralysed the production of related companies such as Graph, Cartisa, Divipa, Artes and Garcicuño, among others. On the contrary, the impact of the strike on the companies Biolid, Comeco and Erabili has been “remarkable”.
Thus, the trade unions call for an agreement that will allow Cebek to eliminate the blockade and ensure decent working conditions and decent purchasing power, as the last data of 2009-2011.
“We’ve lost a child!” That is what I am going to say to the speaker. I'm sure with this excuse it's going to allow me to board and fly from there so everyone can hear it: "We've lost a child! Yes, a child! It has been now, you will have seen, the comrade workers, totally pale,... [+]
On Tuesday I had called for a strike in public services, but I did not normally participate. I went to the ikastola and got a little bit of a gym. The idea was to work according to the school's needs, but what I would be dissatisfied with doing a strike that day was handed over... [+]
