Bicycle marches to end the grave situation of prisoners
- Between July 20 and 23, Sar organized a bicycle march aimed at changing the exceptional situation of Basque prisoners. The cyclists will leave the Mont-de-Marsan prison in Landesta and end up in Zaballa de Álava.
The bicycle march organized by Sara is now organized within the dynamics of Prisoners. The aim is to put an end to the situation of Basque political prisoners.
Sara reiterated that "the state of emergency that is imposed on Basque prisoners must end", as well as reminding them that "the remoteness policy is a terrible suffering that affects the family group".
The cyclist’s initiative will depart from the Mont-de-Marsan prison on 20 July and will end at Zaballa prison on 23 July.
The first stage will take place between Bayonne, the second until San Sebastian and the third from Altsasu to Zaballaru. Three days three stages.
The Network has taken note of the statements made by the President of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, on the issue of prisoners, and has called for changes to be made as soon as possible.
Sara says that Sánchez’s intention to change the prison policy is “positive”, so that “the step would be important in the path of solution and peace of the conflict.”
