The work of this biomass company consists of burning 350 tons of eucalyptus and pine logs a day, as explained by the Güeñes Bizia Platform: "This means, after a wood drying process, cutting more than 1000 tons of forest."
The platform has reported that the case has been analysed by the Superior Scientific Research Council (CSIC). The Council ' s staff warned them that such activities cannot be carried out less than five kilometres from the city centre.
The platform recalled that 800 researchers filed a complaint with the European Parliament in 2018. They claimed that access to energy through biomass burning should be discarded, which is the most polluting among all.
