A man is arrested in Bilbao for trying to kill his partner with a fire
- A 36-year-old man burned a sleeping apartment where the woman and her daughter were.
The event took place on 30 April. The alleged aggressor was arrested on Tuesday by the Ertzaintza. The 36-year-old man is attributed to the attempted murder, the crime of injuries and the damage caused by the fire.
The man, the woman and the son of the woman lived in Lonja. The fire occurred around 2 a.m. and the woman was seriously transferred to Cruces Hospital. When the ertzaina started the investigation, he thought there was an accident. However, as the investigation progressed he discovered that the fire was not accidental and was provoked by someone. He thought it could be a machista attack.
The detainee is at the Ertzaintza police station and the case will be made available to the first Violence against Women Court in Bilbao.
