Two robbers have disappeared for almost a month. The media has made this known and the French embassy in Mexico has confirmed the information on Wednesday. Michel Amado and Assya Madjour are the missing couples, one from San Juan de Luz and another from Ziburu. His latest news date back to September 12, when they were in the state of south-eastern Mexico of Chiapas.
The French embassy has ensured that the resources are in place to locate them as soon as possible and that they are “in close contact” with their families.
There is no clear information about what happened; the media Reforma reports that they were last seen at a spiritual center in San Cristobal de Las Casas. The same newspaper has published that family members have asked for help in searching the Internet in various forums aimed at tourism chiapas.
In Mexico, more than 106,000 people have disappeared since 1964, according to official data. Most of them have taken place since 2006, when the then-president, Felipe Calderón, declared the war on drug trafficking.
