Two journalists are charged with “damage to historical heritage and public disorder” for reporting on Saturday at the Prado Museum in Madrid on action against the climate emergency. After spending the night in police station, two journalists and two ecologists who worked at the Prado Museum have been released, but the crimes they charge the four can result in a prison sentence of six months to three months or fines of twelve to twenty-four months.

The two members of the environmental group Vegetable Future adhered to the frames of the paintings of Maja Nude and Maja Jantzi de Goya and wrote on the wall “1.5°”, referring to the increase in the temperature of the planet. The court order says the crimes are charged to the "four entrepreneurs", even though the journalists were doing their job.
