Last Friday, 4 July, the fascist party Vox held an electoral event in the Loiola district of Donostia-San Sebastián (Gipuzkoa). The rally started at 19:50 hours in the Lavender Square, near the Spanish Army barracks. About a hundred people concentrated in the immediate vicinity to protest, among cries and noises, by the members of Vox and the people who participated in the event, about 30.
There were 12 vans from the Ertzaintza, which closed most of the entrances to the neighborhood. At the end of the 15-minute rally, the police were thrown at the Protestants, as was done in other towns, to try to protect and allow the members of Vox to leave. Several demonstrators set a container on fire and the Ertzaines arrested two people inside the house.
Last week, in Sestao (Bizkaia) and Irun (Gipuzkoa), the police also charged anti-fascists who participated in the protests against the Vox rallies. In addition, several demonstrators were reported to be under investigation for violent incidents during the event. Previously, the loads also occurred in the San Francisco bilbaíno district, which has suffered a significant increase.
