According to the resolution signed by the Vice-Minister for Linguistic Policy, Miren Dobaran Urrutia, "the Basque Government has distributed one year more aid to promote the use of Euskera in the media that mainly use Castilian. Like last year, EUR 1 million has been distributed and the majority has been allocated to the media of the News Group, Naiz-Gara and El Diario Vasco.

The News Group – News Journal of Álava, News of Gipuzkoa and Deia – has been granted EUR 431,595, 73,000 more than last year. Naiz-Gara has received €306,440 and El Diario Vasco €161,965. The remaining funds are allocated between the following three media and the news agency: Segura Irratia (€50,000), Europa Press (€29,162) and News Agency (€20,838).

The Basque Government has made this resolution public, while another great extraordinary aid is being processed, which will mainly be directed towards the Spanish-language media.
