Since 1986 the Bertsolaritza Irakaskuntza programme has been in operation in Navarre, a project that aims to work on the basic contents of bertsolaritza in the educational centers of the country. Taught by the Association Navarra of Bertsozale Elkartea, through its bertsolaris and specialist teachers, subsidized by the Government of Navarra (in addition to several municipalities and communities). The UN and the Department of Education of the Government of Navarra have agreed to continue this collaboration through the signing of a new contract. The convention was signed last week at the headquarters of the Department of Education of Navarra, in Pamplona/Iruña. The Minister of Education of Navarra, Carlos Gimeno, and the Director-General of Education, Gil Sevillano, as well as Ander Pérez, coordinator of the Bertsolaris Association of Navarra were present.
According to the new contract, this programme will be developed in the course of 2020 in 58 schools in Navarre, where the UN commits to work in at least 125 schools in at least 11 school hours. In this way, Bertsolarism will be present in most of the Model D centers of Navarra (and in a few of the Model B), through a project with years of experience and proven results.
