Let us decolonize ourselves because the motto is not a motto, we will begin this task with small steps, as the historic march is one of the events scheduled on 12 October and in the morning. Led by ARGIA journalist and historian Urko Apaolaza, we will enter the Casco Viejo to meet different corners and characters and bring to light, as far as possible, unknown stories hidden behind.
What does the church of Santa Maria have to do with slavery? How and who was drinking water to San Sebastian? What are the traces left by wars? And the Basque country, what presence has it had in these streets? At each stop, Apaolaza will give a very brief historical explanation.
That will be the context in which Beñat Gaztelumendi and Miren Artetxe will sing Bertsos. They will have a very broad theme, in the paper, the melody and the measure they want to dedicate themselves to free music. The Gaztelumendi donostiarra will confront the most well-known corners and people of the city and will sing from the perspective of "decolonization". And Artetxe, from Hendaia, will be able to play with the eyes of the foreigner. Two young voices, formed in transformative movements.
The tour will be short, with a duration of approximately one hour; starting at the Plaza de la Trinidad and ending at the Plaza Nueva (Plaza de la Constitución) around 13:00.
