Gernika-Palestine has denounced the genocide of Israel in Palestine through the initiative taken on 2 June. From the Zubizuri bridge to the Guggenheim, hundreds of children’s shoes have been installed, as the aim of the initiative is to denounce in particular the genocide suffered by children. Another reason why the Bilbao City Council organised this initiative was the non-breakdown of relations with Israel, accusing it of participating in the genocide.

Faced with each of the diapers mentioned, Gernika-Palestine has put a message on paper: Name, surname, age and guilt of children killed by Israel, NATO and the European Union. In addition to the shoes, numerous Palestinian symbols have been placed, such as the Palestinian Zirgariak flags on the walk. According to UNICEF data, about 400 children die or are injured daily in the Gaza Strip alone.

Basauri initiative

Gernika-Palestine showed solidarity with Palestinian children in Basauri on Saturday through another action. In front of the church of San Pedro the children's shoes were placed and the activity was attended by many neighbors. The attendees denounced the Israeli massacre in the Palestinian city of Rafah.
