The workers recalled that Alconza is a very important company in Berango, as for many years they work and work in and around the municipality. Thus, on more than one occasion they have stressed that the fight that is now taking place "will mean employment of the future".
In addition, the workers have always criticized the action of the Irizar Group which bought the Berango plant and demanded that it implement an industrial plan that guarantees 100% of its jobs during the strike. Moreover, they stressed that, after eight years of dividend sharing in the Alconza fund, it is not legitimate for the "reactivation plan" proposed by the management to be based on 38 redundancies: "The solution that has been put forward cannot be based on the destruction of jobs. A good industrial plan is based on production and staff and the media. Without that, nothing will work and lead to lockdown."
