Beñat Gaztelumendi achieves the txapela of Gipuzkoa
- Xabier Gaztelumendi has put it among the audience’s applause, behind a face to face with Agin Laburu. 6,000 people have met this afternoon at the Donostia Arena to hold the final of the Bertsolaris Championship in Gipuzkoa.
Agin Laburu Rezola, Alaia Martin Etxebeste, Ane Labaka Mayoz, BEÑAT Gaztelumendi Arandia, BEÑAT Lizaso Alberdi, Jon Maia Soria, Nerea Elustondo Plazaola and Oihana Iguaran Barandiaran were the final gisorting.
The bertsolaris have performed several exercises in the first part, and at the end of it, Agin Laburu and BEÑAT Gaztelumendi have been classified for the second part, to play the manomanist. Finally, Gaztelumendi has taken the txapela. It is the second Gipuzkoa Championship that he won, as he also took the txapela of the previous edition, in 2015.

On the other hand, the bertsolaris asteasuarras Pello Errota and Mikaela Elizegi have been honored in this edition, while Mikaela Kortajarena, the granddaughter of the bertsolari asteasuarra Mikaela Elizegi, has delivered two of the awards. Saroi Jauregi and Xabi Igoa, members of the management of Bertsozale Elkartea, have given the awards, and also Unai Mendizabal and Igotz Alkorta, of the Karidadeko BENTA team of Karidadeko Benta, have won the Inter-village Championship in Gipuzkoa.
