Osakidetza has echoed the call to close everything, arguing that stricter measures must be put in place to curb the spread of the virus. Health professionals know that these are difficult times to make decisions and that total confinement can have negative effects on the economy, but they ask the Basque Government to prioritize people and their lives.
More and more voices are calling for the suspension of all unnecessary actions. Yesterday, 25 March, EH Bildu abstained in the vote in the Congress of Deputies to extend the state of alarm. The sovereign party, as has already been explained, demanded total confinement from the Government of Spain and said that if it were not complied with it would abstain in the Congress of Deputies. Said and done.
The only parties that joined EH Bildu's abstention were ERC and JxCat in Catalonia, while the rest voted for it. The extension of the state of alarm was approved without any vote against the law.
