Errekaleor Free District is ready to celebrate its ninth anniversary
- Under the slogan "9 years alive, 63 years in memory" will be celebrated this year the anniversary of 21 to 25 September.
Errekaleor Bizirik! The project is now nine years old. To celebrate this anniversary, various activities have been organized in the neighbourhood from 21 to 25 September, from Wednesday to Sunday.
The action of bertsolari Jon Maia from Extremadura to Bertsolari will be the first of the activities scheduled for the anniversary, on Wednesday afternoon. On Friday, for their part, people who come to Errekaleor will be able to meet and sing around a dinner.
The weekend will be the most active day, Saturday is the schedule of all day and Sunday as well. On Saturday at 11:00 hours, the members of the Association 3 of March, the archaeological project of Hontanillas de Obreras sin Factory,and the Memory Group of Bilbao La Vieja will offer a round table in which the Memory will work collectively. Obreras without Factory is an interdisciplinary research project that aims to collect the history of women from the working-class neighborhood of Ciudad Pegaso (Madrid) through testimonies, photographs, objects and audiovisual documents. The authors of the archaeological project of Hontanillas have investigated the disappearance of this town of Guadalajara, once it was emptied in the 1970s, as well as its attempts to repopulate since then. At the same time, a workshop will be held for the youngest: photos, memory and crafts.
At noon you will join in marianitada and food and in the afternoon there will be a bowl tournament. Children and adults may participate.
To continue the holiday atmosphere and end the day, Ska de Siro (Ska Reggae, Vitoria), Demència Serril (Punk Rural) and J.A.R.T.A. Attack (punk) groups will offer concerts.
On Sunday 25, at 12:00 hours, Errekaleor's neighbors will offer a guided tour "in two stages", in which they will tell how the neighborhood was when it was founded and in the first decades and explain the existing spaces and dynamics. Meanwhile, the children will take a tour to get to know the murals of the neighborhood.
On Sunday you will also enjoy a meal: Popular food will be celebrated at 14.00 hours. Finally, at 17:00 a.m., Association 3 of March will offer a musical talk.
