Vox tried to install a propaganda post on the occasion of Vox’s elections to the Spanish Congress and Senate, but as in many other places, several people protested against the far-right party in Atxuri. The Biscay Territorial Court has examined the case and has ruled that the nine defendants acted "to prevent those who wish to know Vox from freely communicating their ideas, and from freely expressing their opinion about their vote." El Diario reports that the sentence includes insults and threats against members of Vox, as well as efforts to overcome the police barrier.
In the trial that took place on November 18, 2024, eight of the nine defendants admitted what they had been charged with and therefore the charges were dropped. So this is how it goes: Sentenced to four months in prison for persons convicted of an electoral offence and ten months for persons charged with an offence of resistance to authority. Since the prison sentences are less than two years, the defendants will not enter prison unless they have a record.
In the latter case, the intervention of the accused is also considered by the court to be proven even if the accused does not accept the actions. An aide at the trial said the defendant “insulted” Vox members and called them fascists while trying to cross the police line, El Diario said.
