The Spanish Government intends to launch the next course of the Lomloe, an educational law passed last December. The representatives of the autonomous communities met yesterday with the General Commission on Education and made themselves known the details of the changes that arise. Regional authorities will have time to make proposals: The 2022-2023 course will enter into force at the odd levels of the Lomloe; the following year it will enter even levels.
According to the official document published by El País Vasco, the decisions contemplated in the Education Act represent a radical change in the academic curriculum of the two years of Compulsory Secondary Education and Baccalaureate. They propose to expand the optional subjects of the ESO in the face of the rigid path proposed by the Wert Law to "give greater autonomy to students". In Bachillerato, five modalities will be offered, instead of the three currently offered.
Among the first and third courses in Secondary Education, in the fourth year the Technology and Digitization course will be taught, which will be distributed in two branches and will be offered in an optional way: Technology on the one hand or Digitalization on the other. Within these levels, the subject of Civic and Ethical Values will also be offered as a follow-up to the lesson to be taught in the fifth or sixth grade of primary education.
The most significant changes are set at level 4. The subject of Economy will be called Economy and Entrepreneurship, and the academic curriculum will be more linked to fostering creative desire and initiative. The development of skills in the personal and labour fields will also include an optional subject at this level: Personal and Vocational Training and Guidance.
The Government has committed itself to ensuring that the latter will provide knowledge in the field of psychology, sociology and anthropology. Thus, they explained that they will replace the Philosophy subject, which has been removed from compulsory education. The subject will be compulsory in the first and second of Bachillerato (under the name of History of Physiolosophy), but several agents have denounced that it will be removed from the Academic Guide of Philosophy, which is unacceptable.
Lomloe has also brought about changes in the three high-school pathways that exist today. It is proposed to divide the modality of Arts into two: on the one hand, the trajectory linked to music and performing arts, and on the other, the one related to plastic arts, image and design. In addition, the General Baccalaureate modality will be created, which aims to bring science and literature knowledge together. Thus, five Baccalaureates will be offered: Science and Technology and Social Sciences (those that have been previously maintained) and Bachillerato General and the two modalities of the arts.
They will all have common subjects for two years. But the optional subjects will be different from those specific to the modality. During the first year of General Baccalaureate there will be General Mathematics and in the second there will be General Sciences. Of the optional ones, they shall have two each year: Economic, Entrepreneurial and Entrepreneurial Action in the first year, and any of the options offered in the modalities of Cultural and Artistic Movements or any other baccalaureate, in the second.
According to the information provided by the Government, this possibility of mixing subjects in other modalities is aimed at young people who are unclear about what to do. It will also be useful for those students who, after finishing high school, wish to have access to Vocational Training or to pursue university degrees of general knowledge, such as Journalism.
Small changes have also been made in the Science and Technology Baccalaureate and in the Social Sciences. In the first stage, students will be given the opportunity to learn mathematics in the sciences and in the mathematics applied to the social sciences. In the second modality, young people will not have to choose between Latin language and applied mathematics, as one of them will be able to learn as optional and the other as compulsory.
The subject of Technical Drawing that can be chosen in the Arts and Sciences modality will be reconsidered. It is a subject aimed at those who wish to pursue studies related to technology and architecture, and is oriented to the plastic arts for those who wish to learn something related to it.
I received your e-mail in personal mail on the strike portals. At first, like many others, I thought it was to let you know what options we have in the face of the strike. But no, the e-mail received was a political and communicative movement against the strike.

And for another year, the unions have organized prefabricated strikes for us. And we, individually, will decide whether or not to join the strike, without the need for any assembly at the school.
The strike model that I was taught is no longer in vogue, it seems. In my... [+]
