A person died on Wednesday in Muxika (Bizkaia) as a result of a work accident where he worked as a forest keeper, according to the Ertzaintza report. According to the Basque Department of Security, emergency services received a call at 09:00 hours to warn them of the accident. The doctor went by helicopter to the area and treated the worker, who died as a result of the injuries.
The Ertzaintza has opened an investigation to clarify the causes that have led to the accident.
According to the LAB union count, 31 workers died in an occupational accident in the Basque Country this year. The Muxika accident is also the second fatal occupational accident in a week; last week, a 22-year-old worker died in Durango as a result of a fall.
