A group of neighbours appeared to denounce the decision taken by the City of Barañain on 22 June 2021 regarding the linguistic profiles of municipal jobs and claimed the right to live in Basque in Barañain. The plenary session of the City Council, with the votes in favour of the councillors of the PSN and the NA+, annulled thirteen of the municipal seats the linguistic profile they had.
In the light of this situation, an information campaign will be launched to inform the neighbours of Barañain. "Although it is true that since 2002 the City of Barañáin has taken several steps in the Bai Euskarari project to serve Euskaldun citizenship in the original language of the Navarros, it is still not able to offer all services in Basque to citizenship, and in the organic staff of 2021 the elimination of these linguistic profiles has increased the situation as regards the linguistic rights of Basque citizenship. In fact, the mission of any administration is to provide an adequate service to the citizens, and the Basque people of Barañain have every right to receive in our language the service provided by the City Hall and not to be second-class citizens", they said.
For this reason, they urge the City of Barañáin to re-establish the linguistic profile of Euskera in the 2022 establishment of the thirteen jobs and all the jobs necessary to guarantee the service in Euskera, as well as "to make effective progress in the eradication of the linguistic rights of the Basque neighbours and neighbours of Barañáin".
Finally, they have encouraged all Barañain's neighbors to "speak the first word in Basque and ask for service in Basque, since we have every right to live in our language in our people".
