In a text that has been published to value the festivities of Carmen, the PSE of Barakaldo has publicly criticized the reading of the proclamation "only in Euskera". Socialists say they have received "many complaints." They stress that "the social majority of Barakaldo is Castellanoparlante", so "much of the public" did not understand what was being said "pregonero". That is, although in Barakaldo, by law, the Basque and Spanish have the same level of protection, according to the members of the PSE, the Basque country must always be publicly accompanied by Spanish, "so that we all understand it". On the contrary, in line with most of the preachers of the previous festivities, the socialist party of Barakaldo has never said anything, even if the conventions are exclusively in Spanish or mainly in Spanish. The socialist party has been in Barakaldo's mayor for two decades, until in 2015 the PNV overflowed. Throughout these years there have been numerous and varied complaints lodged by the Euskaldunes of Barakaldo, accusing municipal institutions of violating the linguistic rights of the Euskaldunes.
The proclamation of this year’s Barakaldo festivities was made by the Sasiburu association to publicly acknowledge the work of 30 years for the Basque and the Basque people. Sasiburu's member, Ander Ezeiza, pointed out in the proclamation that "Sasiburu is a humble association that works from childhood to give its place to the Basque in Barakaldo, collaborating". He added that being Basque is not a gift inherited from birth, but a voluntary option, so "let us not leave anyone out and bet on feasts without racism".
After speaking in Basque and on the law of the Basques, the Socialists spoke in the ETA communiqué. They criticise the alleged public gestures of solidarity at parties with Basque political prisoners. In the descent of the gangs, some people regretted the fact that pictures of the prisoners were taken and that in some txosnas "symbols in favor of the prisoners" were shown. That is to say, the political party that is guaranteeing that some Basque prisoners approach the prisons of the Basque Country, eleven this week, has criticized the symbols that demand to bring the prisoners to Euskal Herria, and thus has been in favour of "withdrawing once and for all this kind of symbology and posters" at parties.
