The Anti-Terrorist Prosecutor ' s Office does not assume the case of the attack on the Baiona mosque
- On Wednesday, the Baiona Attorney announced the results of the psychiatric test he conducted on Claude Sinké. The analysis concludes that the alleged perpetrator of the Monday attack on the Baiona mosque had no control over his actions, at least in part, according to the same sources. At the moment, the Paris Anti-Terrorist Prosecutor’s Office has not taken over the investigation of this case.
The medical psychic analysis of Claude Sinké showed that the perpetrator of the attack on the Baiona mosque suffered "a partial loss of his ability to separate and control his actions". Sinké is the alleged perpetrator of the gunfire that caused serious injuries to two people who were in the mosque when they tried to set fire to the mosque door.
After the medical test, he has been detained again since Tuesday afternoon, and after re-filing, this Wednesday afternoon he will be brought to justice.
The Prosecutor's Office has announced that the man who was a local candidate for the National Front in the 2015 elections is charged with "attempted murder, degradation and destruction of aggravated property and use of weapons to exert violence", but it is up to the judge to decide on his personal situation and the future of the court case.
However, the Paris Anti-Terrorist Prosecutor’s Office has already taken its decision: at the moment, it will not take care of it, despite the implications of the case.
Islamophobia seems to have something to do with Monday's attack: The construction of the Baiona mosque in 2015 and 2017 was the subject of two attacks and disqualifications that led to the opposition to Baiona.
The perpetrator told the police that he acted "to avenge the fire of Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris," and that he held "Muslims" responsible.
"All he wanted was to burn the mosque," he said, and he said he didn't want to kill anyone. That's why Sinké chose "an hour when there are hardly any people in that place." However, the detainee threatened a person as soon as he arrived in the area with the vehicle in which he was travelling.

This second attack was particularly serious, as this person was shot in the car and then burned the vehicle. Fortunately, one person accompanied the wounded and took him out of the car, where he was taken to a hospital center.
