On November 12 of last year, there was an eviction in Astrabudua (Erandio Bizkaia): A 70-year-old woman and her granddaughter were evicted. The woman was defrauded by a loan company and lost her home that she owned for 40 years for a debt of 7,000 euros, which she was unable to pay and for which she was deprived of her home, despite being in a vulnerable situation.
The Socialist Housing Union of Costa Uribe called for resistance to the dismissal, and on November 12, several people gathered in the doorway of the house. However, with their usual participation, the Ercion launched a strong offensive against those who mobilized in order to stop the eviction: it forcibly removed them from the front of the house and injured several. He also took two friends. In this way, they finally managed to carry out the eviction.
However, news comes from Astrabudua: the house that was evicted on that day has recently been opened and recovered, and the two women who were evicted reside there. "The dismissed have returned home and the scammers will not be able to do business with it," explains the Uribe Kosta Housing Union: "Those who wanted to evict a house for a debt of 7,000 euros will have a harder time profiting from it." Although the union has warned that it is now possible to start a new eviction process, it has reaffirmed its commitment to defend the house.
