The aim of the initiative is to promote collective mobility, and the new Txik Txak network has been launched to help it. The Single Commonwealth of Iparralde announced in 2023 the launch of the new network on 6 January 2025, when it issued its report on Sustainable Mobility. Supply increases by 20% on the coast, by 113% on the bottom of the coast and by 68% on the inside.
Kazeta.eus has listed a number of changes that will lead to transport schemes, including: The frequency of the tram’bus service in the region of Biarritz-Angelu - Baiona will be higher; on the bus routes with more travellers the service will be increased in hours of morning and afternoon; the offer will be reinforced by direct connections to the north of Baiona, to the hospital and to the educational centers (Marracq, L’Argente and Cassin); the direct connection between the north and the south coast will be extended.

In Álava, free bus for children under 12
Since 7 January, Alaveses under the age of 12 can travel free of charge on the buses of Alavabus and the local transport service. The company that manages urban buses in Vitoria-Gasteiz has been offering this service for free since 2022.
In total, 22,000 young people will be able to travel for free from day 7. For this they will only have to show the BAT card.
So far, in Araba, Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa, only those under the age of 6 paid nothing for traveling by metro, tram and bus. The Basque Government has already proposed to the municipalities and parliaments last September the extension of the free service, which is expected to enter into force in the coming months in Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa.
