For the second time, Eudel has renounced the guidelines of the Basque Government for approving the budget draft. At the last meeting, the Basque Government proposed June 1 as the beginning date of the “cultural summer of the Basque Country”. At that time, the possibility of starting museums, cultural spaces, libraries, reading rooms, cinemas and cultural activities was envisaged. For this purpose, he presented a report prepared by the Department of Health with the objective of carrying out these actions “under conditions that safeguard safety and health”. If the common criteria are accepted, decision-making is left to the decision-makers of each institution.

The Association of Basque Municipalities (EUDEL) requested a more comprehensive medical report that was collected last Tuesday. However, the Basque Government has rejected most of the criteria and has considered that it is not sufficient. Most of the mayors of the municipalities that make up Eudel were in favour of the "no" at Thursday's meeting: Those of EH Bildu and the PSE, seven in total, and some of the PNV also opposed the criteria. They argued that the responsibility for this level does not lie with the municipalities.

However, a consensus was reached and a number of measures were adopted. For example, to set a limit of 250 people in all cultural activities to be organised until 15 September, to be organised in a sitting position and in a space of at least 1,000 square metres. It was unanimously agreed not to carry out the udalekus and to keep all municipal infrastructures, except libraries and auditorium closed. In any case, they have admitted that they have been given the opportunity to review it.

It has also been approved that a working group be set up between municipal technicians to meet with the Eudel management and make their proposals in this regard. No date has yet been set for the establishment of the report or for the meeting.
