The far right party RN is the great winner of the first round of the elections to the French Parliament. Almost after the vote count, the RN received 34.36%, the New Popular Front left 28.1% and the Ensemble of Macron 20.3%. In recent years, the extreme right is gaining a lot of strength in the French state: In 2017, the RN achieved 13.20% of the votes in the Basque Parliament, compared to 18.68% in 2022 and 34.36% in this period.
Faced with the risk of the extreme right falling into power, several voices – left-wing parties, some Members of the majority, including some on the right – accuse President Macron of "playing with fire" by dismantling Parliament and calling for elections. So voters have gone to vote and turnout has been the highest of the last 25 years, but if you look at the results, it is clear that the far-right voter has also been mobilized. With a participation of 65.5%, the message against Macron is clearer than ever. Macron collects a slap: In the first lap of 2022 he won 25.75% of the votes, which is five more points than this time. On 9 June last, the French Parliament was dissolved and elections were called to try to speed up the majority, but that has not happened.
Facing the second round, Macron has called for an "open, clearly Democratic and Republican unity," in which Republican leaders feel reluctant. Prime Minister Gabriel Attal has also clarified the following: "Not a single vote for RN." The Ensemble coalition for Macron has called on the constituencies in which third parties have been located to withdraw their candidatures to facilitate the victory for those who stay up to the RN. In particular, those who have carried out more than 12.5% of the votes of those registered in the second round could go on to the second round. It will be the manomanists or among three candidates. Jean-Luc Mélenchon has taken the floor on behalf of the Left People's Front and made it clear: "Not one vote or one more chair for the RN." He has ordered his candidates to withdraw the block from the left in those constituencies in which it has been placed in third place.
The Republican right has not given a slogan of vote - although its leader, Eric Ciotti, and the head of the list of the European elections, François-Xavier Bellamy, clarifies that in the dispute between the left and the extreme right they will vote in favor of the RN. The Republican Party has won about 10% of the votes, while the Republican Party is about 10%.
Marine Lepen has underlined the importance of an absolute majority in the fact that the force of the extreme right has been confirmed. The RN would need 289 Members to get an absolute majority – in 2022 it got 89, 81 more than in 2017. Jordan Bardella has harshly attacked the left and crushed the candidacy of RN: "I will be the Prime Minister of coexistence, who respects the Constitution and the office of President of the Republic, but who rigorously conducts a policy that serves France and serves the French."
Three months have passed since the elections to the French Parliament. It was July 7, and to everyone's surprise, the New Popular Front on the left, the FHB, won. With the aim of cutting the road to the far right that was successful in the first round, in the second round the... [+]
The sun has risen for the fourth time in the besieged area of the Baiona festivities and I believe that in this northern Basque Country we breathe better, especially because our three Members are from the New People’s Front and we have relegated the third place to the black... [+]
One student told me once we studied a text: “The character is sick: the thought moves in his head.” Obviously, with this phrase, he misplaced the comment he had in his mind, that is, that the imbecility of the character was noticed in his continuous reflections. However,... [+]
At 20:00 hours the first data came out, which has surprised in general: The far-right RN that used to locate all the surveys has been third and the New Popular Front of the Left FHB. The NB, which was seen in the majority or in the absolute majority, has been a slap for the... [+]
