The Basque Government's report on the education of foreigners is "incomplete" for the Platform for Public Schools in Vitoria-Gasteiz
- The report on the education of foreigners in the CAV "escapes" from reality for the Vitoria-Gasteiz Public Schools Platform. Ainhoa Astigarraga and Rubén Sánchez, members of the platform, have pointed out in an interview with Hala Bedi radio that the report, avoiding the words “key” necessary to solve the problem, “seeks shortcuts and diverts attention”.
The Platform by the Public School of Vitoria-Gasteiz has described as "incomplete" and "partial" the report presented by the Education Counselor of the Basque Government, Cristina Uriarte, on the schooling of foreigners in the Basque educational system.
Ainhoa Astigarraga, a member of the platform, has stressed that no data on the socioeconomic profile of the student is mentioned and that no "brave" or "drastic" measures are proposed to solve the problem. Astigarraga pointed out that the report does not analyse the data of children aged 2 to 6 years and that these reflect "a much more severe situation of segregation".
For his part, the other member of the platform, Rubén Sánchez, has stressed that the report of the Basque Government "mixes" secondary data to "equate" the imbalances existing in the previous age groups.
Sánchez has pointed out that the research aims to convey a "more positive" image of the current Basque educational system and has stated that this attitude "makes it impossible" for the situation to be solved.
