This week a strike will be held between the workers of Lidl in Gipuzkoa
- On Thursday and Saturday, stoppages will be held to improve the working conditions of the operators of the Lidl supermarkets.
The workers in the Lidl supermarkets in Gipuzkoa will strike this week in defence of their working conditions. In particular, Thursday and Saturday will be dismissed as the company has ignored the demands of workers' representatives (today the LAB and ELA unions). At the moment management has not given a clear answer to the requests.
Requests by workers include the following: between May and September, working hours on Saturdays in the summer afternoon are considered to be overtime; public holidays on 24 and 31 December, the completion of the maximum working day at 15:00 hours; the retention of children of workers until 14 years of age in overtime and reductions in working hours; the existence of an additional transport for staff living in the working category, etc.
In April last year, the workers in Lidl de Gipuzkoa were about to go on strike, in favour of wage increases and a reduction in the workload. However, in view of the various requests and accepted by the company management, the unions suspended the calls for strikes and mobilizations.
