The Government of Armenia has carried out a movement of zealanders to end the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict: it has sent the Government of Azerbaijan a set of proposals for a peace agreement. Among these proposals is the restoration and certification of the connections of the territory, and from this very route, Azerbaijan denounces that it has blocked the passage of Latxin illegally. The latter complaint has been addressed by the European Court of Human Rights, which has asked Azerbaijan to ensure the “safe” passage through this gateway.
These proposals are the result of the latest conflict. The clashes between Armenia and Azerbaijan are ongoing and 2022 has been no less. In September this year, the parties also suffered deaths, with territorial communications being the most affected. In this link you can see the ARGIA channel of Nagorno Karabakh.
It is not by chance, therefore, that the Latxin crossing is one of the most important points of the peace agreement, as it is the only way of communicating with Nagorno Karabakh, at least with Armenia. The latest news about the territory speaks of an unsafe gateway, and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinian has denounced that the blockade of the gateway has prevented the maturation of basic food and the distribution of families. He adds that Azerbaijan has cut gas supplies and that the authorities in Nagorno Karabakh have called for a reduction in the use of the car for ambulance and minority services.
Azerbaijan denies the blockade and blames Russian troops. In fact, since 2020 there are about 2,000 Russian soldiers, as agreed in the peace conventions of the last war. Pashinian is also critical of Russian troops in claiming that its job is to prevent these illegal acts and to control the passage of Latxin.
The conflict between the mountains of the Caucasus has been going on for more than three decades between lighting up and the fox, but it has never been completely extinguished. As in other regions of Eastern Europe, ethno-religious conflicts have drawn history. Even before joining the USSR, there was a border conflict that became part of Azerbaijan during the First World War.
But upon entering the USSR, they gave him the status of an autonomous entity and somehow silenced the conflict that arose when the USSR was dissolved. In 1988 Nagorno Karabakh was integrated into Azerbaijan, with a majority of Armenians: Orthodox Christians remained in a Muslim country.
Since then, the Artsaje Government has ruled a territory without borders. Even after the wars of 1994 and 2020, these borders have been changing. And so are many families who have had to leave their homes, because today Nagorno Karabakh has been proclaimed land of Azerbaijan, and the military has taken them out of the house.
