There is already the Bertsolaris Championship in Álava. In order to offer a faithful image to the path of Bertsolarism in Araba, micros and fans of prepared bertsos, the first phase of the championship, the quarterfinals, has begun. The first session was held last Saturday in Araia.

The six bertsolaris they played were as follows: Manex Agirre Arriolabengoa (Aramaio), Paula Amilburu Izargarai (Aramaio), Felipe Zelaieta Txurruka (Gasteiz), Rikardo González de Durana Alzola (Oreitia), Iñaki Viñaspre Simon (Abetxuku) and Dujon

On this first lap the bertsolaris sang 13 scored bertsos. After performing all the exercises, Iñaki Viñaspre scored the most points, with 258 points. The semi-finals will be sorted by the score order of the three quarter finals. The scores were as follows:

Iñaki Viñaspre: 258 points

Manex Agirre: 251.5 points

Paula Amilburu: 228 points

Ricardo González de Durana: 222.5 points

Felipe Zelaieta: 205.5 points

Jon Ruiz de Pinedo: 201 points

Marta Ugarte, presenter of Araia, was in charge of presenting the program, composed of twelve people. The jury of the 3-quarter finals of the first lap consists of: EKAITZ Elorriaga, Iker Elexpuru and Fernando Sopelana. Manex Garaio as secretary.

Next Saturday, in Zigoitia, the second quarter of the final will be played.
