Counselor Arantxa Tapia is charged with “influence traffic”

The Attorney General’s Office of the Basque Country has admitted formalities and open proceedings to investigate a complaint lodged by Jaime Ignacio del Burgo, former head of the Navarre right, against the counselor of Economic Development, Sustainability and the Environment, Arantxa Tapia. According to his thesis, Del Burg provided data that allegedly linked Tapia to the “Davalor” case and accused the advisor of “influence trafficking”, according to Eldiario.
The complaint has been lodged with the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Navarra, according to the Diario de Navarra newspaper, but has been transferred to the High Court of Justice of the Basque Country for its capacity as a lawyer. According to judicial sources, although the dossier has recently begun, they have already decided to open proceedings. This case, therefore, is not a criminal charge, since the Public Prosecutor’s Office has six months to conduct a prior investigation, and it will then be confirmed whether it is possible to open a normal case in which a complaint is lodged or to file the case.
The Ethics Committee of the Basque Government already has a long “jurisprudence” and considers that denouncing or investigating a senior position is not a “compelling reason” to propose his removal.
