Álvaro Campos is a PhD in Thermal Engineering. Besides being a researcher and professor at the University of the Basque Country, he participates in different defense platforms of the territory.
In his talk, accompanied by infographics and images, he explains in a very understandable way how the electricity network is organized: from the moment energy is generated until the citizens turn on the light at home, what is the path electricity makes, what are the agents and the owners in each step...
The talk will give way to understanding what renewables are and to reflect on different logics: What is the logic behind local renewables? And macro-projects for renewables? Are they the same energy model? Are they compatible?
Campos will offer a talk in Spanish, as he does not feel as confident as for the technical explanation to be expressed in Basque. You fully understand the Basque language and listeners will have the opportunity to ask questions in the language they want.
The talk will take place on Thursday, October 24 at 19:00 in Zizurkil behea, in the cultural center Atxulondo.
Organized by the Herribizigune and Ezkeltzu Bizirik groups. The Herribizigune cooperative works to make Zizurkil a living village, for example, by making food available to local and local farmers. The Ezkeltzu Bizirik group is working to combat the 200-meter four-lane wind project that Green Capital wants to carry out on Ezkeltzu.
On the subject of energy, the two groups want to activate the energy community in Zizurkil and, as a first step, have opened a questionnaire to citizens. The second joint event will take place at the EiTB headquarters in Bilbao, with the aim of informing citizens about the issue. This talk will report on the results of the questionnaire disseminated among citizens.
