On 23 and 24 January, the Spanish National Court of Appeal will be charged with reviewing the judgment of the Altsasu case, as reported by the Parents of Altsasu. On 1 June this court sentenced the eight young people of Alsasua to a total of 79 years - one of them was sentenced to two years and the rest was sentenced to between nine and thirteen years.
In early October, the lawyers of the six defendants requested the annulment of the judges of the court: The defense argued that impartiality was not enough to analyze the case for the decorations received by the judges of the Civil Guard Eloy Velasco and José Ramón Navarro. However, they did not comply with the petition, and in addition, six accused of "bad faith" could be accused of it. The judge who imposed a fine of EUR 600 will be in charge of revising the judgment of June this year.
Prisoners will have the opportunity to talk through a video conference. They are currently in the Zaballa (Álava) prison.
