The lockers of the train stations of Alsasua, Castejón and Tafalla, closed to the public at the beginning of the year
- As explained by the Subai Erakuntza Foundation, the decision concerns the investment of the High-Speed Train (TAV). In the Spanish State, more than 140 windows have already been closed on the conventional rail network.
The public companies Renfe and ADIF have closed the lockers of the three stations of Navarra. People interested in purchasing tickets for the train in Castejón, Tafalla or Alsasua should do so via the website or via the mobile phone to make the trip. The decision to close these windows has not been provisional and is related to what is happening in other parts of the Spanish State. The CGT trade union has denounced that such decisions "do not benefit areas where they are empty".
In a statement, the public company ADIF explained that, as a general rule, it will only assume cards at stations with more than 100 passengers and a certain number of ticket office sales.
The Subai Erakuntza Foundation, for its part, regretted that "the new year has meant the dismantling of the local train of Navarra". The foundation that works in the fight against the TAV warned in November that the High-Speed Train "was not going to bring any benefit" to people like Tafalla, but "many natural damages".
