They ask for the economic help of the citizens to make the documentary about the return of Alfonso Etxegarai
- Former ETA member Alfonso Etxegarai has been deported for 33 years in Africa and at the end of September it was known that he has just returned to Euskal Herria. The documentary Caminho longe wants to tell that return and for that it is collecting the contributions of the citizens.
It is 10 years since Josu Martínez and Txaber Larreategi took the documentary Sagarren denbora, which can be seen in the multimedia channel of ARGIA. This documentary, starring Etxegarai and his partner Kristiane Etxaluz, is, in a way, the continuation of this Caminho longe: The directors have recorded how Etxegarai has returned from exile in Africa and, as they have explained, the way back has been rather rough.
It is a five-day recording, almost uninterrupted, in which the protagonists forget the presence of the cameras from a moment onwards, playing naturally. As a result, the film will show how the return of such a long exile from home is inside.
This project, promoted by Adabaki Produkzioak, aims to be financed through the contributions of the citizens. To this end, they have made available to the public the possibility of making contributions on the Verkami platform. Filmmakers need EUR 25,000 in order to be able to make the film properly – the crowdfunding page explains in detail what exactly the money received is going to be used for – and although the wording of these lines has exceeded the EUR 9,000 barrier, this month is the key to giving a boost to the project.
Contributors shall be able to receive various awards in payment of the aid granted.
