On 11 September, the National Police arrested seven persons: "These are people who are making public and normal life and the police have stopped him at home without a court order by their own decision. It’s serious, they want to be afraid, not only in the movement against the TAV, but in the whole popular movement.” This was demonstrated by a member of Mugitu during a rally held on Saturday in front of the PSN headquarters in the Paseo de Sarasate.

In addition to these detainees, the police are investigating other people, including two journalists, who are accused of usurping public functions, documentary falsehood and coercion after symbolically stopping the works of the TAV section between Villafranca and Peralta on 13 August. Three other people were arrested on previous occasions for chaining in the Delegation of the Government of Navarra in Navarra.

At this Saturday's rally many people have reported to the press the persecution of the disobedient movement. To this end, they have had the support of different trade unions and social partners. They have asked the PSN to bring the Spanish Government which is in the hands of the PSOE to stop the persecution and to paralyse the works.

Mugitu pointed out that reports and studies have been published in recent times that have called into question the viability of the APR. For example, the one launched in August by the Independent Tax Liability Authority Airef, or the one presented last week by Subai Erakuntza in the Parliament of Navarra, explaining that the carriage of goods on the high-speed train will be “very difficult”.

The works of the TAV continue in the corridor of Navarre, but in recent times there are numerous difficulties and at least two sections have had to be paralyzed in Olite and Tafalla, according to the movement against the TAV announced at the end of August that the machines are not working and that there are no working workers either. ADIF and companies have not given more details about this stop.

Two of the four subsections he was working on have been paralyzed, according to the Ertzaintza report. Specifically, in the 7.6 km sub-section of Olite-Tafalla and in the 7 km sub-section of Tatreatments -Tafalla, there are no machines or operators working.

According to Mugitu, what companies are doing in secret, anti-TAV activists did so publicly in August by symbolically paralysing the works. The platform Erdialdea Trenenaren Alde considers that the movement has been persecuted “for representing what the majority of Navarre society thinks”.

An uncomfortable question in the Parliament of Navarre: “The TAV for what?”

Subai Erakuntza also stressed in the Parliament of Navarra the responsibility that the socialist party has at the moment, since being in the governments of Navarre and Spain “it is they who have to make the decisions”.

The ombudsman of the current railway line, at his hearing last Tuesday, for being able to transport goods, among other things: “The TAV will never bring goods, not us, but other official institutions,” said Pablo Lorente, of Subai.

Thus, after listing the environmental “wrecks” that are causing the works of the TAV, he left an uncomfortable question in the air: “And all that for what? Do nothing more than the train we have now?”
